PHProxy is the most famous and successful web based PHP proxy script. Server load is light compared to cgi based proxy and getting popularity of PHP, PHProxy became a standard proxy script.

This is how proxy script is used. This script does bypass firewalls restrictions. You can unblock Youtube, Myspace and Facebook from restricted network such as school or office. In some countries, people are afraid of the prying eyes of Big Brother or any malicious third parties are planning to unauthorized access via proxy.

Usage policy of PHProxy code, web designers can publish their themes including whole script with modifications. You can find many themes and mods for PHProxy. After stopping PHProxy project, derived versions are introduced as well. This is one of the strong reason to recommend PHProxy.

PHProxy was developed by Abdullah Arif. The project started in 2004 but he suddenly terminated the project as follows. Im not sure what happened to him but maybe still he is around.

As of September 7th 2007, I, Abdullah Arif (eugee, ultimategamer00, uG, et cetera), completely renounce and disavow the PHProxy (poxy) project and all past and future works and derivatives based on the PHProxy script. I will no longer continue development nor support for this script. I relinquish all rights and disclaim all responsibilities associated. This decision is final. Thanks to everyone for their support.
